Charlie is 15 and the lump growing on his little head and grown dramatically in last few months. Initially I was against the idea of Charlie having surgery to remove the lump due to his age and so I left it to be his special little beauty spot.
But things have changed in the last week. The lump began to slowly weep and ooze out black matter and wouldn’t cease. Whilst waiting for the appointment at his usual vet, Charlie needed emergency treatment on the lump at the After Hours Emergency Clinic. They cleaned up the little mess forming on top of the lump and removed what they could. Unfortunately it is a solid black lump that couldn’t really be reduced effectively.
A week later with a follow up visit with the vet on the 27th April at our usual vet clinic. Vet noticed that the lump had grown a great deal since she last seen it a month ago for a biopsy. And now it has a little cap on it from the clean up at the Emergency clinic. So she has recommended to have surgery to remove the lump as this will avoid Charlie scratching it and opening it to ongoing infections.
The vet says as there is no fatty tissue where it's located and that there is plenty of skin, it will just be a matter of removing the lump itself and not digging in to remove a lot under the skin as any cancer treatment is not recommended and I wouldn’t put Charlie through that anyway.
Please purchase tickets to help us raise funds for Charlie’s surgery. Tickets are $10 and you’ll get two entries in the draw.
Charlie 🐾🐾 and I have have proudly run our little business for nearly 10 years. We just want other little doggies to be as happy and safe as Charlie is in his booster seat when we are out and about driving.
We are one fur-mum and one fur-baby small business. Since Covid has begun, our sales have dropped dramatically but have still been able to keep the business running and will continue to be here for our pawsome past and future customers 🐾🐾
